While the eero setup is simple and fuss-free, we know small issues can sometimes pop up. We want you to have the best and most straightforward experience with Brillband and our products, so we’ve put together some extra tips and tricks to help with your setup. Whether you’re using an eero 6, eero 6+, or eero 7 system (or adding extra eero units you’ve purchased), we’ve got everything you need to get up and running smoothly. These devices work together as a mesh Wi‑Fi network, ensuring your whole home gets great coverage. 🔧
Before You Start:
Download the eero app on your smartphone or tablet (available on iOS and Android).
Turn on Bluetooth on your phone (the app uses it during setup).
Power on your broadband modem or ONT and have it ready.
Connect your eero to your modem/ONT using the included Ethernet cable — plug one end into your ONT and the other into your eero unit.
Trouble Getting Your eero Online? Try These Tips:
1. Check Bluetooth
The eero app pairs with your router via Bluetooth.
iOS: Settings → Bluetooth → On
Android: Settings → Connections → Bluetooth → On
2. Set Up Using Serial Number
If the app doesn’t automatically detect your device:
Open the eero app and choose “Set up using Serial Number.”
Find the SN sticker on the bottom of your eero (starts with “SN” followed by dashes).
Enter the serial number exactly as shown, including the dashes.
This helps the app recognise your eero and get your network online quickly. 🚀
3. Try an Alternative Phone or Tablet
Sometimes device quirks or outdated OS versions can trip up setup:
Ensure your device is running the latest iOS or Android update.
If issues persist, try using a different phone or tablet to complete setup.
4. Power-Cycle Your eero
A quick restart often does the trick:
Unplug the eero from its power source.
Wait 30 seconds, then plug it back in.
Watch the LED light pulse white — once it turns solid, reopen the eero app and continue setup.
Adding More eero Units (Mesh Expansion)
Once your main eero is set up, you can add additional eero devices to expand your mesh network for better Wi‑Fi coverage:
Open the eero app.
Tap the + icon.
Choose “Add eero.”
Follow the instructions to place and register your new unit.
These extra units can work wirelessly or be connected via Ethernet for stronger connections.
Why eero Mesh is Great
All eero models (6, 6+, and 7) work together — you can even mix them!
Devices automatically switch between eero nodes for seamless connectivity.
Manage and update everything easily through the eero app.
Placement Tips
Where you place your eero units matters for best performance:
Centralise them - especially the main gateway unit connected to your modem.
Position nodes halfway between the main unit and any weak Wi‑Fi areas.
Avoid interference - keep units away from large appliances, metal objects, and cordless phones.
Quick Troubleshooting
eero not showing in the app? Make sure Bluetooth is on and your phone has an internet or mobile data connection during setup.
Devices not connecting? Forget the old Wi‑Fi network on your device and reconnect using your new eero network details.
