eero Soft and Hard Reset

Written by Inez

Soft Reset (Turn it Off & On)

A soft reset clears temporary issues or “built-up errors” while keeping your network settings intact (Wi‑Fi names, passwords, and connected devices). Use it if your eero is:

  • Running slow

  • Not responding to the app

  • Having connection issues

Steps:

  1. Unplug your eero from power.

  2. Wait until the LED light turns yellow, then plug it back in.

  3. Wait for it to come back online.

Soft resets are safe and often fix slow or unresponsive connections.

Hard Reset (Factory Reset)

A hard reset restores your eero to factory settings. Use this if:

  • Your eero isn’t recognizing the network

  • You’ve moved house

  • There were setup or configuration issues

Steps:

  1. Locate the power button on the bottom of your eero.

  2. Hold the button down for 15 seconds.

  3. Wait until the eero flashes blue.

  4. Set up your eero again from scratch using the app.

⚠️ Note: A hard reset will erase your network settings, so you’ll need to reconnect all devices and re-enter Wi‑Fi names and passwords.
