Get prepared for printing
Connecting a wired printer is typically straightforward but setting up a wireless printer can be more complex.
Whichever way you decide to connect it, we'll help to get it up and running!
Connecting via Ethernet
To connect your printer using Ethernet, simply attach the cable from your printer directly to a port on the back of the eero router.
Connecting wirelessly
To connect your printer over WiFi, the printer must support WPA2.
The eero does not support WiFi Protected Setup (WPS) for security reasons. Older encryption standards like WEP, WPA, or WPA2 TKIP are also not supported.
Check if your printer supports WPA2
Older printers might not support WPA2 and may need a driver update. For most printers, you can find a driver update by searching for the make and model of the printer and downloading the suggested software update.
Remove old network settings
It's best to start afresh by removing any old network settings.
Some printers remember stale information which could cause an issue when transitioning to a new network.
