Routers can throw far
WiFi signals can travel surprising distances in an open space but the more walls, floors, doors, and windows that are between them and your devices, the more the router will struggle to provide a solid connection.
You’ll want to consider repositioning the router or purchasing an extender if the WiFi is struggling to reach areas of your home.
Â
Â
Positioning the routerÂ
When choosing where to place the router, you should consider what is nearby.
It should be positioned centrally in your home and away from other devices.
If you're limited to where your router can be placed, you can purchase a longer CAT 6 (or above) ethernet cable as they can cope with our speeds.
Â
Purchasing an extenderÂ
Depending on the style and size of your home, a lone router may not be able to reach every corner.
Check if the router is in an optimal position first before considering an extender.
If you live in a substantial home, we recommend that you get more than one extender so that it'll be covered nicely.
We recommend the following options which you can purchase from Amazon:

Speed ≠distance
It's a common misconception that higher speeds can travel further.
However, it does provide you with a higher bandwidth so that you have a more solid and stable wireless internet connection throughout your home.
Adding an extender to your home will limit the overall wireless speeds to a maximum of 500Mbps, but this is still an excellent speed throughout your home. Your wireless speed is reduced as it splits and allocates the bandwidth to the different rooms and devices that need signal.
If you require your device to process 900Mbs, a CAT 6 (or above) wired connection will be required.Â
